Class 170 C6 + refresh 26 x 3 car DMU for First Scotrail

RPL have leased an empty Rail shed in Rosyth and developed the site and processes required to deliver overhauled and refreshed vehicles. This includes vehicle inspections, control of movements, material procurement and logistics, stock control, operations management, resource utilisation, final testing and fitness to run. The scope of work includes:
· New saloon carpets
· New Vestibule Coir Matting
· Replacing heater grills with new design
· Water based painting of Vestibules / Toilets and damaged panels
· New Curtains and first class table lamps
· New seat and waist rail
· Repair / Replacement of seat shells
· New dado panel moquette
· Overhaul of Batteries
· Overhaul of Inter-vehicle Jumpers
· Cab and Saloon Door equipment overhaul
· Headlight replacement / modification
· Cab Heater overhaul and replace
· Brake Controller renewal
· Windscreen wiper motor overhaul and renew
· Air Conditioning controllers and units renew
· DSD pedal replace
· Gangway renewals
· Toilet equipment overhaul and replace
· Heavy Clean
· Testing & Commissioning of all train systems

Class 313 Refresh 40 x 3 car EMU for First Capital Connect

Working for FCC RPL achieved a refresh of a class 313 3 car unit every week which involved the following scope;
· Remove and refit all unit seating
· Exchange all seat covers for new
· Removed all floor coverings
· Changed out all rotten floor substrates where required
· Painted in situ all heater grilles
· Changed body side glass where required
· Removed and recovered all dado panels and refitted
· Fitted new waist and seat rail cappings where required
· Templated and fitted new rubber flooring
· Changed drivers and second mans seat covers

Class 319 Refresh Project

Contract awarded to RPL for the refresh of 18 class 319 units operated by First Capital Connect. There are 3 different types of units to be refreshed 319/2, 319/3 and 319/4. The scope comprises of Removal of all vehicle seating. Removal and refinishing of all seat backs. Change all seat covers. New Stainless Steel heater grilles. New floor coverings in the saloon, vestibule and toilet areas. New luggage Stacks and seat reconfiguration in saloons. Fit new style seat pedestal. New and refurbished grab poles and rails. Strip out and refit lounge area with new seating configuration (class 319/2 units only). All units will be completed on a 2 week downtime.
