I am currently recruiting for a number of excellent Mechanical Design Engineers to join a global organisation based in Derby. The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will be involved in the design of nuclear propulsion systems and civil nuclear applications.
Job Description
As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will be responsible for specifying design requirements that ensure the customer's objectives will be met. You will develop concept designs and work with internal and external stakeholders to produce cost-effective solutions. You will apply techniques such as design for manufacture, design for assembly, concurrent engineering and rapid prototyping. You will undertake design substantiation and produce safety justification statements to support the design.
You will provide support to customers requiring quick and effective evaluation of problems and defects; seeking advice from specialists to prepare and present solutions for implementation. You will also support the manufacturing of components and resolution of manufacturing queries. In addition, you will define, plan and report development trials to support new designs.
Desired Skills & Experience
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
Particular experience in any of the following would be advantageous: structural integrity, pressure vessels design, valve design, pump design including electro-mechanical expertise, pipework design and stressing.
Experience in Failure Modes and Effects Analysis and Hazards and Operability studies are desirable but not essential, as training will be provided for the right individual.

Railway Projects Limited has been operating in the UK Rail Industry for over 20 years and has an excellent reputation within the industry for providing project and labour supply solutions to the industry. We are currently recruiting for a number of experienced Paint Sprayers to join our team.
The successful Paint Sprayers will be involved in Rolling Stock refurbishment projects focussing on the interior aesthetics of the rail carriages. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Preparation of interior and exterior panels for painting
- Spraying interior and exterior using waterborne paint systems
- Masking all areas of the vehicle as directed by the Team Leader
- Paint repairs
- General housekeeping as directed by the Team Leader
Required Skills and Experience
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role
- Experience of working on similar projects, ideally rolling stock but other industries may be considered
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team

I am currently recruiting for a Stress Engineer to join a prestigious organisation involved in the design, manufacture and service of a variety of nuclear technologies. The successful Stress Engineer will develop and apply structural integrity assessment techniques to support the design, safety justification, in-service operation and manufacturing of current and future naval reactor plants.
Job Description
As a Stress Engineer, you will undertake a broad range of mechanical assessments, including linear, non-linear and dynamic finite element analyses (2D, 3D, static and thermal); making use of industry-wide tools and codes (such as fracture mechanics, fatigue, ASME codes and R6).
You will develop and apply structural integrity assessment techniques to support the design, safety justification, in-service operation and manufacturing of current and future naval reactor plants.
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualified to degree level or equivalent in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, you will have experience of finite element analysis and/or fracture mechanics methods applied to structural analysis.
A strong background in one of the following areas would also be beneficial: fatigue assessment, probabilistic fracture mechanics, residual stress modelling, acoustic modelling, creep, impact, design-by-analysis, programming (for example FORTRAN).
As you'll be working as part of a team, strong interpersonal and communication abilities including literacy skills are essential. You will possess problem solving skills plus a creative yet methodical approach.
Chartered status (or working towards it) of a relevant professional institute would be an advantage.

Based in Kilmarnock RPL are looking to recruit a number of experienced Coach / Vehicle Builders.
Duties will include coachbuilding (removal & refit) work on rolling stock.
Candidates will preferably be fully trained coachbuilders or vehicles builders with previous experience.
You will be required to work a Rotating Shift Pattern to include Days, Nights and Weekends
